We took the subway from our hotel district to the Shyubu district to get our rail passes for Kyoto. It was an adventure, walking in a sea of people through the subways and the shopping district. Japan's population is nearly 1/2 of the size of the US, yet Japan is about the size of California. Image taking 1/2 of our population and moving everyone to CA! The number of people moving through the streets reminds me of an ant hive, like orderly chaos.
