I decided to apply for a Japan Fulbright Scholarship on the advice of a fellow art teacher who was awarded a fulbright scholarship several years ago. She described the experience as life-changing, a barrel of fun, and to top it all off, it's free. What's more to love?
Last December I went through the application process for the Japan Fulbright Scholar Program. It included a resume, several letters of recommendation, and a thorough plan for implementation and outreach upon my return home. I submitted my final application and awaited my answer.
I was extremely excited (ecstatic... over the moon...) to find out in late March that I was selected to represent my school and state as a Fulbright Scholar. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on about Japan, talking about it until my friends and family are blue in the face, and am busy surfing the net!
